Xiangxi (Sarah) Chen

Analytics leader, AI builder, and storyteller for media

Background

Education, recognition, and the communication layer behind the work.

This page brings together the context behind my professional work: the academic foundation, the awards, and the storytelling background that affects how I frame and present ideas.

Education

Where the foundation came from.

My background combines analytics, media, business, and bilingual communication. That mix is a big part of how I approach problem solving now.

Johns Hopkins University

M.S. in Marketing Analytics (STEM)

Communication University of Zhejiang

B.A. in Bilingual Broadcasting

Columbia University

Exchange Program in Marketing and Business Management

Recognition

Awards that reinforce the pattern.

The recognition is meaningful because it points to the same pattern across different settings: strong analytical framing, clear storytelling, and the ability to build a compelling solution under pressure.

2026

WPP Cannes Young Lions Winner

Recognized for strategic thinking, creative clarity, and the ability to shape ideas into work that stands out under pressure.

2026

Global Hackathon Top Finalist, US Top 1

Built a media-optimization model that predicts line-item delivery capacity and reduces under-delivery risk, with test performance stronger than the existing algorithm.

2025

WPP Hackathon Grand Prize

Won for Tech Concierge, an AI-enabled internal support product that turned scattered platform knowledge into a faster, more scalable workflow.

Storytelling

Communication has always been part of the skill set.

My broadcasting and hosting background is not a separate identity from my analytics work. It is part of why I am able to make complex ideas land clearly with different audiences.

My broadcasting background trained me to shape information around audience needs, not just deliver facts.

That same instinct shows up in executive readouts, stakeholder alignment, and the way I frame analytical recommendations.

I care about rhythm, clarity, and what people can do next after hearing the story.
